GES is both R2 and e-Steward certified. These certifications are voluntary for electronics recyclers as the industry has very little federal regulation. The R2 standard was developed by a group of stakeholders, but is now under the authority of ISRI or the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries. The e-Steward initiative was established by BAN or the Basel Action Network, which is a non-profit organization that is considered the “watchdog” of the electronics recycling industry. BAN, based in Seattle, Washington, promotes ethical electronics recycling and diligently aims to eliminate the exportation of hazardous materials to developing countries.
Global Environmental Services, with facilities in Georgetown, KY and Austin, TX, is the seventh largest electronics recycler in North America. GES partners with major OEMs, government entities, corporations (large and small of all industries), and significantly with the community to deliver world class services.
